From December 19th 2005 thru mid-January of 2006, the Children of Chornobyl Relief and Development Fund, under the auspices of Ukraine's leading mobile communications corporation  UMC distributed thousands of complimentary copies of an elegant baby diary to mothers who had delivered their babies during the Christmas season. The specially designed, illustrated booklets featuring the art work of renowned Ukrainian artist Olena Stelmach created a sensation in many hospitals, where mothers were  awestruck by their quality, their softbound texture and  heart-warming creativity. Beginning in the industrial city of Krivyj Rih and rural Zhytomyr Province, CCRDF extended the distribution to maternity hospitals in  Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Lutsk, Uzhhorod, Chernivtsi and Dnipropetrovsk, among others. In its introductory inscription to the booklet, UMC's creative team stated: "The birth of a child should always  be one  of the most  important event in the life of every person... In the spirit of traditional family values, UMC prepared this unique album to help preserve in your memory the first year of your child's life."
